Situated on the narrow peninsula between Loughs Conn and Cullin, the school is located in the heart of an angler's paradise.
The River Moy drains Lough Conn - a beautiful lake of some 12,000 acres with many bays and islands and noted for its free rising trout. Surveys have shown that it holds a stock of up to 500,000 wild brown trout. Conn enjoys a good run of spring salmon and an excellent run of grilse. One of the great western lakes, Conn extends nine miles from north to south and varies in width from two to six miles.
The Pontoon Fishing School has been taking people out on the lakes for almost twenty years and teaches people all the techniques needed to catch a wild brown trout on the fly. Instructors use fascinating technique where you will learn to cast on the lawn before going on the water so there is no wasted time on the water. A special bonus, if you hook and land a fish, you can freeze and take him home to brag about your catch and better still have someone else cook him for you in the twin lakes restaurant.
